You will not Forget Olivtech’s Taste

Olivtech - 9th Olive, Olive Oil, Dairy Products, Wine and Technologies Fair is preparing to present you four days full of tastes between 6-9 March. Sector professionals will have the opportunity to view many products in Fuarizmir from olive and olive oil to milk and dairy products, from wine to the sector related machines.

Countdown for the Olivtech - 9th Olive, Olive Oil, Dairy Products, Wine and Technologies Fair organized by İZFAŞ and hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, has begun. The 9th Olivtech Fair, which aims to increase the exports of the products, especially olive and olive oil, it offers to the final consumers will take place from 6 to 9 March this year. Wine tastings that took place for the first time last year will continue at its full speed this year. In addition to olive oil and olive tasting, sector professionals will have the opportunity to learn about milk, dairy products and fermented products. Olivtech will host many manufacturers, importers, food sector professionals from Turkey and various countries in the world in Fuarizmir.

Countdown Has Begun

9th Olivtech, which will be held in Hall C this year, is preparing to host thousands of local and foreign visitors. In Olivtech, where many special exhibitors will take their place and present olive and olive oil tasting, milk and dairy products will reach the final consumer and special wine tasting will take place, events closely related to the sector will also be organized. Table olives, which are one of the most important export elements of Turkey, olive oil production, the interaction of environmental conditions with the olive sector, issues such as geographical indication of olives and olive oil will be discussed during the fair. As in the past year, tasting occasions will take place in Olivtech with participation of experts of their fields.

Bilateral meetings will take place

Hosted Buyer (Procurement Committee Program) area will be created within the fair. Within the scope of the procurement committee program organized by İZFAŞ, buyers from various parts of the world will have bilateral meetings in this field with the exhibitor companies. With the meetings that will continue during the fair, it is aimed to reach Turkish olives, olive oil, dairy products and wines to every point of the world and thus to sign many new agreements.

                    

Last year, 220 exhibitors attended

Olivtech - 8th Olives, Olive Oil, Dairy Products, Wine and Technologies Fair held at B Hall last year brought together famous chefs and tasting experts at fuarizmir. 218 local exhibitors from, mainly Izmir, Adana, Ankara, Aydın, Balıkesir, Bursa, Çanakkale, Denizli, Elazığ, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Manisa, Mersin, Muğla and Tekirdağ as well as 2 exhibitors from Italy, total 220 participants attended to Olivtech Fair. Visitors from Tunisia, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran, Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Palestine, Italy, Spain, Greece, Poland and Netherlands attended to the fair. Turkish olives, olive oil, dairy products and wine were opened to the world through bilateral meetings with the exhibitors. Exhibitors had the opportunity to make commercial agreements.

Latest status of export

According to data from Aegean Exporters' Association, olive and olive oil exports increased by 23.7 percent in 2018 and reached 399.6 million dollars.Biggest share in the export of olive and olive oil belongs to olive oil with 65,9 thousand in quantity with 30 percent increase and 240 million USD export in total amount with 19 percent increase. Olive oil is followed by table olive with 135 million USD export and olive pomace oil with 23 million USD export. Turkey has made a successful entry into the 2018-19 season in the export of table olives. After the first quarter of the season, export of table olive increased by 23 percent to 41 million 564 thousand USD. In export of table olives, green olive export has increased by 85 percent and black olive export has increased by 11 percent. The reason of the increase in Turkey's green olive export this season is that Turkey has exported green olives to Venezuela, Italy and Greece at a record level. Export of black olive was recorded as 31 million 330 thousand USD with an increase of 11 percent between October 1 - December 31, 2018. Black olive export in the same period of the previous season was 28 million 303 thousand USD. 75 percent of the table olive export of Turkey was constituted by black olive. Green olive export, which had a more successful season than black olive export, has increased from 5 million 546 thousand USD to 10 million 233 thousand USD with a record increase by 85 percent in the first quarter of season 2018/19. When examined based on the quantity, table olive export has increased by 53 percent, from 17 thousand 239 tons to 26 thousand 450 tons.
